Water Analysis

Filtration

• Mechanical Filtration: Involves passing water through a physical barrier to remove larger particles.
• Activated Carbon Filtration: Uses activated carbon to remove impurities and contaminants.
  

Coagulation and Flocculation

• Chemicals are added to water to create flocs (clumps), which attract and trap impurities, making it easier to remove them.
  

Sedimentation

• Allows particles to settle at the bottom of a container, facilitating their removal.
  

Disinfection

• Chlorination: Uses chlorine to kill bacteria and other microorganisms.
• UV Disinfection: Exposes water to ultraviolet light to inactivate microorganisms.
  

Reverse Osmosis

• Forces water through a semi-permeable membrane to remove contaminants.
  

Ion Exchange

• Replaces undesirable ions with more acceptable ions through the use of resin beads.
  

Distillation

• Involves heating water to create steam, which is then condensed back into liquid form, leaving impurities behind.
